- To construct a seasonal forecast for the next rainy season June July August September 1998,
- Reduce the existing gap between the climate information providers and the community of users and policy makers ,
- Promote the science of climate and its applications within the national meteorological and hydrological services for the benefit of sustainable development in Africa,
- Develop close collaboration within and across different institutions in the fields of climate, agriculture, and water and,
- Develop proper management for an efficient early warning system
for food security.
