Mitigation of Range/Velocity Ambiguities
SZ(8/64) Phase Coding Technique
The performance of
the SZ-2 technique was evaluated on real weather data. Time series data were
recorded with the KOUN research radar and processed offline using a MATLAB-based
WSR-88D Signal Processing Subsystem simulator.
Parameters used for data acquisition are given in the following table:

The fields of reflectivity, velocity, and spectrum width are displayed for several events. Labels on the figures indicate the variable (Reflectivity, Velocity, or Spectrum Width), the waveform type (Long, Medium, or Short), the transmitted signal (PC=Phase Coded or Non PC), the elevation angle (EL), the date, and the approximate time.
