Abbreviations:

  • Elev.: Elevation angle (in deg)

  • AZ rate: Antenna rotation speed (in deg/s)

  • Period: Period of one cut (360 deg) (in s)

  • Dwell time: Period of one radial (in ms)

  • WF type: Waveform type. It could be:

  • CS,x: Contiguous Surveillance, PRT #x

  • SZ(n/M): SZ Phase Coded Contiguous Doppler

  • ST(r): Staggered PRT (with no overlay resolution and r as the stagger ratio)

  • PRT #: PRT number

  • Short PRT #: Short PRT number (for staggered PRT)

  • Long PRT #: Long PRT number (for staggered PRT)

  • M: Number of pulses in one radial

  • Tu: PRT period (in ms)

  • T1: Short PRT period (for staggered PRT) (in ms)

  • T2: Long PRT period (for staggered PRT) (in ms)

  • rar: Maximum unambiguous range for the reflectivity field (in km)

  • rav: Maximum unambiguous range for the velocity field (in km)

  • va: Effective maximum unambiguous velocity (obtained after de-aliasing for the staggered PRT mode) (in m/s)

The fields of reflectivity, velocity, and spectrum width are displayed for several events. Labels on the figures indicate the variable (Reflectivity, Velocity, or Spectrum Width), the waveform type (Staggered PRT, Uniform PRT, PC=Phase Coded, or Non PC), the elevation angle (EL), the date, and the approximate time. The following selected case studies are available:

Event descriptions are extracted from the JPOLE KOUN database.
