Climate Change Monitoring and Detection

The goal of this new (in 2001) theme is to study the homogeneity or lack thereof of the historical station records in the U.S. and to use this information to help address the climate change questions, including those stemming from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) process.  This work will be done in collaboration with NESDIS and its National Climatic Date Center (NCDC) in Asheville, NC.
