During the evening on 9 June 2002, a west-to-east-oriented band of convective cells develops
across central Oklahoma. The cells west of KOUN have high KDP and ZDR values, suggesting
heavy rainfall (Figs. 4-9). These cells move northeastward and begin to decay between 3-4 UTC,
with stratiform precipitation remaining through the rest of the period. Polarimetric variables
indicate the presence of biological scatterers around KOUN from 1:57-9:59 UTC.
