On 12 June 2002, strong convective cells developed north of KOUN. Data collection occurred
during two periods: 13:28-16:13 UTC and 22:39-23:54 UTC. In the first period, convective cells
developed north of KOUN and moved southeastward. The KDP signatures suggested that heavy
rain fell from some of these storms (see first set of Figs. 1-4). In the second period, convective cells developed north
of KOUN again and moved eastward. Two of
the cells contain hail signatures between 23:29-23:54 (Wood and Kay COs in northern OK; see
second set of Figs. below).
