On 23 April 2002, several bands of convective cells formed over Oklahoma, some containing
polarimetric signatures of hail (Figs. 1-4).
Radar Operations:
Start time: 00:40 4/23/03 UTC (19:40 4/22/03 local time)
Stop time: 23:51 4/23/03 UTC (18:51 4/23/03 local time)
Radar/Operational Status:
Hydrometeor Classification Algorithm: Warm season
Operational Delivery:
TBD.
Snapshots:
At 16:54 UTC, hail is indicated by the colocation of high reflectivity and minima in differential
reflectivity in the convective cell located near the center of Figures 1-4.
